Autonomous maritime platforms
Uncrewed surface and underwater vessels for wide-area surveillance and anti-submarine warfare, designed to self-deploy, hold station and route around hazards without a continuous control link.
Sovereign defence AI · United Kingdom
We design and build uncrewed maritime platforms and the sovereign AI that runs them — our own models, on our own UK servers, with nothing leaving our control.
Project 01 — In development
A 1.5-metre autonomous sea drone built for multi-week patrols: camera-first perception that builds a live 3D picture of its surroundings, sonar below the waterline, dynamic diving, and encrypted reporting back to shore.
Eighteen months in development. Now in testing.
The brief
Britain is rebuilding its defence around drones, autonomy and AI, procured in months rather than years — and the North Atlantic is back at the centre of national strategy. We exist to put credible, sovereign capability into that gap.
A persistent uncrewed presence at sea is no longer a concept paper. It is a procurement priority — and a manufacturing problem worth solving in Britain.
01 — Capabilities
Everything we build feeds a single operating picture: sense, decide, act, with a human accountable at each step.
Uncrewed surface and underwater vessels for wide-area surveillance and anti-submarine warfare, designed to self-deploy, hold station and route around hazards without a continuous control link.
Onboard inertial, acoustic and model-aided navigation that holds an accurate fix when GNSS is jammed, spoofed or simply absent at depth.
Edge AI that turns raw acoustic, RF and electro-optical feeds into ranked contacts and alerts, so operators see decisions, not data exhaust.
Our own constrained language model, built and run in-house for defence work — briefings, logistics, doctrine and decision support — on UK servers with no connection to any outside AI provider.
02 — Maritime systems
Our uncrewed vessels are built for the job the Royal Navy has named a priority: a wide-area, persistent watch over the GIUK gap and the undersea infrastructure that the country depends on.
Each platform plans its own passage from a tasking order, maintains an accurate position without relying on satellites, and surfaces a clear contact picture to a remote operations centre ashore. The crew stays in command; the boat does the hours at sea.
03 — Defence AI
Commercial AI assistants are trained on the open internet and run on someone else's infrastructure. Neither is acceptable for defence work. Ours is built differently from the ground up.
We develop and run our own constrained language model on servers we own and operate in the UK. There is no connection to any outside AI company, and your data is never passed to a third party. The model drafts, summarises and cross-checks, and shows its working — so an officer can stand behind every output.
04 — Sectors
Persistent ASW search and surface picture across chokepoints and sea lines of communication.
Monitoring of subsea cables, pipelines and energy nodes against interference and sabotage.
Edge sensing and fusion that compresses the time between detection and decision.
AI-assisted movement, demand forecasting and readiness reporting for the strategic base.
Decision support that ranks options and flags risk without taking the decision away.
Built to share a picture with allies under a NATO-first posture in the Euro-Atlantic.
Approach
Design authority, model weights, training data and final assembly stay in British hands, on our own servers. No third-party AI service, no external company in the loop, and no critical dependency beyond reach of UK jurisdiction.
Our systems are human-on-the-loop. Autonomy handles endurance and routine; people hold the authority to act, and the audit trail to answer for it.
We design for test, evaluation and accreditation from day one, against MOD and allied safety and AI-ethics frameworks — not as an afterthought once a prototype floats.
We ship a useful capability early and improve it in the open with the user, rather than disappearing for years and emerging with something the threat has overtaken.
